The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, has fired back at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over their criticism of the current power outages in the country.
Ahiagbah reminded the NDC of the infamous ‘dumsor’ crisis that plagued Ghana during the Mahama administration, emphasizing that Ghanaians have not forgotten the hardship they endured.
This response comes in the wake of accusations from key NDC figures, including Joyce Bawah Mogtari, who blamed the Akufo-Addo government for the recent power challenges. Mogtari condemned the government for failing to take responsibility and accused them of neglecting the basic needs of the people.
In a statement on social media, Ahiagbah acknowledged the frustration caused by the power outages but assured the public that maintenance works are close to completion. He expressed confidence that soon, Ghanaians will enjoy uninterrupted power supply, just as they have under the current administration.
Ahiagbah concluded by stating that the NDC has no moral authority to criticize the government on power issues, given the difficulties faced by Ghanaians during the ‘real dumsor’ era under Mahama’s leadership.
He urged the NDC to refrain from pointing fingers and instead focus on finding practical solutions to the current challenges.
