Ghanaian football sensation Mohammed Kudus has opened up about his love for local club Hearts of Oak in a recent interview with Sky Sports.
The West Ham United star revealed that he supported the Accra-based team while growing up in the capital city of Ghana.
Hearts of Oak, the oldest existing club in Ghana, has a rich history of success both domestically and internationally. The club has won the Ghana League a remarkable 21 times, with a standout achievement of six consecutive wins from 1997 to 2002.
On the international stage, Hearts of Oak has clinched prestigious titles such as the CAF Champions League in 2000, the CAF Super Cup in 2001, and the CAF Confederations Cup in 2004. Additionally, they have won the Ghanaian F.A. Cup a record 12 times, solidifying their status as a football powerhouse in Ghana and beyond.
In his interview, Kudus reminisced about the passionate atmosphere at Hearts of Oak games in Accra, describing it as “crazy”.
His support for the local club highlights the deep-rooted connections between Ghanaian footballers and their homegrown teams, showcasing the pride and loyalty they feel towards their roots.
