Media personality, TV host, voice actor, and social media influencer MC Yaa Yeboah has also spoken her thoughts over the anti-LGBTQ law epecially on the education on anti-gay law which the president has not yet signed into law.

MC Yaa made it quite clear in a recent interview with UTV Ghana that while she supports the passing of anti-LGBTQ legislation, the government must ensure that individuals do not use the law as a justification to harass potential victims. Through advocacy, the government should educate the populace.

“I have seen some videos on social media where people are practically stripped naked on the street because they suspect they are LGBTQ victims. For some people, they are beaten and lynched and that’s where my concern lies,”Β  she stated.

She proceeded to discuss human rights. Every person in the nation has a human right, even in the event that the LGBTQ bill is passed. “We can’t simply lynch and bully the victims.” she declared.

If it is just passed into law, the educational component which instructs people to follow the law instead of abusing it and harassing victims must be implemented.

Β MC Yaa is originally from Aburi in the Eastern region of the country.
