American transgender actress Mj Rodriguez has finally laid her hands on her first Golden Globes Awards statuette, and she can’t keep calm.
Mj Rodriguez, legally known as Michaela Antonia Jaé Rodriguez, announced on Friday, January 28, 2022, that she has received her statuette and it’s ‘crazy heavy’.
In her latest Instagram post, she disclosed that the statuette is a ‘whole weapon’ on its own, and further thanked fellow transgender women who paved the way for her.
“Look a what came today !! @goldenglobes this thing is crazy heavy! @fxnetworks @poseonfx this darn thing is a whole weapon! Thank you @mrrpmurphy @stevencanals and all my pose fam for opening the door!” she noted in her Instagram post sighted by Ghanafuo.com.
On January 10, 2022, Mj Rodriguez, 31, became the first-ever transgender actor to win a Golden Globe award.
She bagged a Golden Globe for best actress in a TV drama for her role as housemother and nurse Blanca on the FX show Pose.
And last summer, she set a record for becoming the first transgender actor to be nominated for a lead acting Emmy. Rodriguez did not end up winning that award.
