Leaders of the organization emphasized the value of choosing Ghanaian rice over imported types during a recent one-day training session on financial capacity building for rice farmers in Dzodze.
They cited the rice’s freshness and absence of chemical preservatives as key benefits.
The Weta Rice Farmers Association’s executives stressed that eating rice farmed nearby helps farmers maintain their livelihoods and boosts the country’s economy by lowering reliance on imports.
The leaders of the group frequently point out that Ghanaian rice is of higher quality than rice from other countries.
He emphasized that Ghanaian rice is carefully grown and harvested to ensure that it is served to customers at its freshest.
In light of this, a one-day workshop on financial capacity was arranged for the rice farmers in the Ketu North Municipality to raise farmers’ awareness of their role in the nation, expose some of the difficulties they face, and enhance their ability to comprehend and enhance specific areas of their work.
In an interview, Weta Rice Farmers Association patron Sampson Klutsey Gamenyah stated that it’s time for Ghanaians to stop believing false things about local rice and start eating it, as this will encourage young people to become interested in rice farming and lower the nation’s unemployment rate.
Rice growers Michael Agbatafa, Akpene Abube, and Priscilla Agbavitor discussed their financial situation and expressed hope that the training would help them.
