From Bogoso to Udinese- The story Of Raymond Asante Anokye

The adage “the best comes from the West” certainly applies to Raymond Asante Anokye of Bogosu, who is emerging as one of the young people to watch in the future.

The 19-year-old Ghanaian is a future star; he is talented, quick, bold, and has a keen eye for goal. Keep your eye on him.

Vinicius Jr. can help you better understand Raymond Anokye and the potential that this young Ghanaian man has.

One of the players who has stood out the most in the Italian Primavera 2 this season is Felix Afena-Gyan, a fellow countryman who previously excelled and gained a significant promotion to AS Roma’s first team under José Mourinho.

Afena-Gyan, who currently plays for Cremonese, and Raymond Asante have very different player profiles when it comes to their style of play, but they have one thing in common: they can both find the back of the net.

Under Andrea Sottil’s coaching, Raymond is ready to make his debut for Udinese’s first team, having scored 12 goals in 14 games and contributed four assists thus far this season.

Only David Stückler of Cremonese Primavera and Luis Buzi of Südtirol Primavera (16 goals) have scored more goals this season than him.

After playing two successful seasons with Young Apostles FC in the Division One League, Raymond Asante signed a contract with the Serie A team Udinese in 2022.

However, the journey didn’t begin at Young Apostles; instead, following his success in the inaugural Baby Jet U-16 competition, he was scouted to the Sunyani-based club. He was then acquired from Scores Academy, a Pokuase-based team where he now plays and calls home. Right now, he’s attempting to get into the starting lineup.

I think Raymond is a sensible young man who is aware of where he is and grateful for it, without losing sight of his goals.

“All thanks to God. I am grateful for the miracle of being where I am. It has not been easy, but we have put in the work, and God is rewarding me,” he said. “Making the jump from the Young Apostles has not been easy. The Division One League in itself is not easy. There is a lot of chaos and violence, and to be able to play there and thrive shows that you are good, and here I am,” he added.
