Sylvester Tetteh, a Member of Parliament representing the Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro district, emerged victorious in the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primary on Saturday, which took place at the Tuba AstroTurf in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Against Kojo Kuranchie and Madam Vida Agyekum Acheampong, his closest competitor, Mr. Sylvester Tetteh received 590 votes.
The Electoral Commission’s Principal Electoral Officer, Mr. Kwabena Ape Ayeh, pronounced him the winner. Madam Vida Agyekum Acheampong received 465 votes, whereas Mr. Kojo Kuranchie received 34.
Except for a situation where voting was stopped because a delegate’s name was missing from the voter album, the event was very successful.
The cops had to step in to put the scene under control. During his triumph address, Mr. Tetteh expressed gratitude to his campaign team and supporters for their tireless efforts, which have contributed to his overwhelming win.
In addition to calling for party unity, Mr. Tetteh said that since his victory is for the party as a whole, everyone should support him in making sure the party breaks the eight while he also breaks the four in the constituency.
Additionally, he issued a warning to his supporters about excessive festivities that would compromise party unity.
Earlier, Mr. Stephen Ntim, the party’s national chairman, went to the polling place to get a firsthand look at how voting was done.
