On Wednesday, a 25-year marriage between Ramat Ibrahim and her estranged husband, Ibrahim Ayinla, was dissolved by an Area Court in Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, citing a lack of love.
The petitioner, Ramat, stated in his statement that all attempts to bring the couple back together had failed, according to the presiding judge, Hammad Ajumonbi, who delivered the ruling.
Therefore, Ajumonbi terminated the marriage, which had been performed according to Islamic law. The first and second children were declared to be adults by the court, and as such, they were free to decide with whom to reside.
In addition, the judge instructed the respondent to do everything within his power to provide for the children’s food, tuition, and medical costs.
In addition, he gave the petitioner permission to pack every item she had. The petitioner had previously told the court that she was afraid to visit the respondent’s home because she believed he was biased and fetishistic toward his co-wife, which is why she was insistent on getting a divorce.
Ramat, on the other hand, claimed that she was unemployed and had no obvious source of income to support the kids. She consequently asked that the children stay with the respondent for the time being.
To prevent more accusations, the respondent informed the court that he supported the petitioner’s choice to file for divorce and that he did not want to see the wife in his home ever again.
