Ms. Aleisia was arrested when Attorney General Michelle Henry stated that an autopsy determined that fatal acetone levels were the cause of the child’s death.

Attorney General Michelle Henry of Pennsylvania announced that an autopsy revealed the child’s death was caused by lethal quantities of acetone in her blood. This led to Ms. Aleisia’s arrest.

The investigation disclosed that before the murder, the 20-year-old lady looked into the potential risks the objects posed to a child.

The probe reveals that the defendant studied the effects of drugs on youngsters in great detail for several months. She is then said to have taken action based on her conclusions.

As Iris’ father Bailey Jacoby left the house to go to the grocery on June 25, 2023, the 20-year-old was with him.

A call from Ms. Owens informing Mr. Jacoby that his daughter was having problems came after a while. A criminal complaint released by WPXI claims that when Bailey Jacob hurried to the New Castle residence, his infant was not breathing. Without delay, he dialed 911.

The 18-month-old child was sent to UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle for medical attention shortly after this. She was evacuated to Pittsburgh’s UPMC Children’s Hospital, nevertheless, about an hour away.

Sadly, though, Iris passed away from organ failure four days later. Iris’s father, Mr. Jacoby, was limited to visitation rights; she resided with her mother, Emily Alfera, and grandparents.

According to the police complaint, Ms. Aleisia said to them that the girl had struck her head after she had “cramped up” and fallen out of bed.

However, the autopsy report revealed that months before her death, the 18-month-old infant had consumed a large number of “water beads,” in addition to button-shaped batteries and a metal screw.

Following a phone check, the authorities discovered that Ms. Aleisia had been searching for “information on household products that could cause a child serious harm or death, including water beads, batteries, and nail polish” between February and June of 2023.
