
Clark Gillies was a professional ice hockey player from Canada. Between 1974 to 1988, he was a member of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres.
Gillies, who was honored by the Islanders on December 13, 2014, stayed involved in the Long Island community.
In Huntington, New York, he worked as a Business Development Manager at Protective Wealth Consultants. Every year, he participated in 30 to 40 charity softball games.
On Long Island, he was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame in the Hockey Category with the Class of 1998.
He was married to Pam, a Moose Jaw native. They were residents of Greenlawn, New York.

During his debut season of 1974–75, Gillies distinguished himself as one of the toughest players in the National Hockey League (NHL), manhandling Philadelphia Flyers enforcer Dave Schultz in the playoffs.
Gillies captained the Islanders from 1977 to 1979, winning the Stanley Cup four years in a row from 1980 to 1983. Gillies has 319 goals, 378 assists, and 1,023 penalty minutes in 958 career games. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
