Joseph A. Suozzi and Marguerite Holmes Suozzi are the parents of Tom Suozzi who is an American politician, attorney, and accountant who served as the U.S. representative for New York’s 3rd congressional district from 2017 to 2023. His district included part of the North Shore of Long Island.

Joseph A. Suozzi and Marguerite Holmes Suozzi are parents of five children. Joseph was a former Glen Cove mayor. He was born in Italy and his mother, Marguerite, is of Irish and English descent. Marguerite was a stay-at-home mother.
Joseph A. Suozzi was elected to the bench of the City Court of Glen Cove in 1949, and re-elected in 1953. He resigned in September 1955, to become a candidate for mayor of Glen Cove and supervisor of the County of Nassau. He served as mayor from 1956 until 1960. In 1961 he was elected to a fourteen-year term as justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York.
Joseph A. Suozzi died on October 16, 2016, at the age of 95.
Thomas Suozzi was born on August 31, 1962, in Glen Cove. The youngest of five siblings, Tom Suozzi attended Catholic schools, graduating from Chaminade High School, Boston College, and Fordham University School of Law. He is trained as both a lawyer and a CPA.
