Digby Woods is the son of the late New Zealander stand-up comedian, author, radio and television presenter who was based in Australia Cal Wilson who died on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the age of 53. She was born in New Zealand on 5 October 1970. After high school in Christchurch, she completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Canterbury.

According to Cal Wilson, she hoped her son would remember their weekends together which they spent making pancakes. She also spoke of an unbreakable bond they had and said the two of them would spend hours on end in the kitchen. She was also asked on Adam Miller’s Bakeology podcast what she thinks Digby will remember her for. She said: “I think it will be for pancakes because that’s a fairly regular weekend thing.”
