Volodymyr Andriyovych Vasylenko died at the age of 86 on October 9, 2023, and was a Ukrainian diplomat who twice served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine. He graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv in 1959.

Volodymyr Vasylenko was a scientific consultant of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for law issues from 1972 to 1992. Between 1991 and 2009, he served as an expert, advisor, and member of the delegation of Ukraine in the UN General Assembly.

From 2001 to 2005, Vasylenko served as a UN General Assembly judge in the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. From 2006 to 2010, he was the Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Human Rights Council. In 2014, Vasylenko was head of the Commission to Investigate Human Rights Violations in Ukraine.

Volodymyr Vasylenko’s marital life has not been revealed, therefore his wife is unknown, but he has a child who is identified as his daughter named Lesia Vasylenko. Lesia is a 36-year-old lady born on March 31, 1987, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her full name is Lesia Volodymyrivna Vasylenko and is a Ukrainian lawyer and politician serving as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine in the 9th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada. She has three children.
