Russell Simmons is an American entrepreneur, writer, and record executive. He was born on October 4, 1957, in Queens, New York City, U.S. His father was a public school administrator and his mother was a park administrator for the New York City Parks and Recreation Department.
Russell co-founded the hip-hop label Def Jam Recordings and created the clothing fashion lines Phat Farm, Argyleculture, and Tantris.
Russell met model Kimora Lee in November 1991 when she was only 16 years and still in high school. After 7 years of dating when Kimora turn 23, they married on the island of Saint Barthelemy and they are blessed with two children. However, in March 2006, Russell announced that he and Lee had ended their relationship and they officially divorced two years later.

Daniel, on the other hand, is a Neo-African abstract expressionist painter, a published author, poet, and philanthropist. He played an instrumental role in the conceiving of and co-producing the hit HBO show Def Poetry Jam, and won a Tony Award for the Broadway version of the show.
