What was the point of Arya Stark being a Faceless Man in ‘Game of Thrones’?

Book Arya fled Westeros because there was nowhere for her, and a Faceless Man she rescued noticed her talent and thought she would become an excellent assassin.

The fundamental premise of The Faceless Men is that in order to become this almost supernatural good assassin capable of “becoming” different people on a whim- you must completely abandon your previous personality. And the Faceless men are doing it to appease the god of death. Arya joins the faceless men in order to learn how to become an assassin like them in order to kill everyone on her hit list, including Cersei. However, this contradicts the entire point of the faceless men (because her entire motivation is rooted in herself). “Jaqen” sees potential in her, but her faceless man training suffers as a result.

In sum, Arya Stark possesses a particularly unique blend of information, talents, and background that the Faceless Men may make excellent use of, particularly if they have specific targets in Westeros in mind.
