Wee Willie Harris, the legendary musician credited with influencing The Beatles, passed away on Thursday at the age of 90, according to his wife Sheila Harris. The reason for death was not specified.
Harris began his career in 1957 as the piano player in residence at the renowned 2i’s Coffee Bar in Soho, London. Over the course of his eight-decade career, Harris backed a number of notable rock and roll artists, including Tommy Steele, Adam Faith, and Screaming Lord Sutch.

Harris sang to the very end and was a great gentleman to Sheila in their senior years, Sheila said in her eulogy for her late husband.
After a performance in Liverpool in 1958, John Lennon and McCartney lined up for his autograph. He had just been given the opportunity to play on a large platform by TV producers who had been impressed by his performance at the 2i’s Coffee Bar.
