Prince Harry and Elton John have teamed up to take on Associated Newspapers, the publisher of UK tabloids such as The DailyMail, in a lawsuit alleging privacy violations. The Duke of Sussex arrived at London’s High Court on Monday, along with other celebrities such as David Furnish, Sadie Frost, Baroness Doreen Lawrence, and Elizabeth Hurley, to make preliminary arguments before a judge.
The lawsuit claims that Associated Newspapers violated privacy laws by bugging the homes and cars of Harry and Meghan Markle, tapping their phones, and paying off police officers for inside information. The publisher has denied the allegations.
This is not the first time that Harry and Meghan have taken legal action against Associated Newspapers. They previously settled a lawsuit in which they accused the publisher of publishing a private letter written by Meghan to her father.
It remains to be seen whether this latest lawsuit will move forward, but it is clear that Harry and his allies are committed to taking a stand against what they see as unethical and illegal practices by the media.
