Nobody would begrudge the resurgence of Sleater-Kinney, Carrie Brownstein, and Corin Tucker’s legendary rock band, which initially gained notoriety in the post-riot grrrl Pacific Northwest a full quarter of a century ago, even though there have been plenty of pointless reboots in recent years.
Even though a lot has changed since they first got together—Brownstein is now well-known in her own right thanks to works like Portlandia the band has somehow managed to hold onto its unique spirit (even though they will be touring in support of their upcoming 10th studio album, “The Center Won’t Hold,” which drops on August 16).
