Lance Edward Armstrong, a former professional road racer from the United States born September 18, 1971, is a cyclist. After beating testicular cancer, he was recognized as a sporting legend for winning the Tour de France seven times in a row from 1999 to 2005.
However, all of his titles were subsequently taken away after it was discovered during an investigation that he had used performance-enhancing drugs all throughout his career.
At the age of 16, Armstrong began participating in triathlons. In 1989 and 1990, he won the national sprint-course triathlon championship.

He was successful between 1993 and 1996, winning the Tour DuPont in 1995, the Clásica de San Sebastián in 1995, the World Championship in 1993, and a few European stage races, including stages 8 and 18 of the Tour de France in 1993 and 1995, respectively.
