Why are Dan Aykroyd and Donna Dixon separated?

Daniel Edward Aykroyd CM OOnt, a Canadian[1] actor, comedian, producer, singer, and writer, was born on July 1st, 1952.

His mother, Lorraine Hélène Marie, worked as a secretary, while his father, Peter Hugh Aykroyd, advised Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau on strategy. His father was of English, Scottish, Irish, French, and Dutch ancestry, while his mother was French Canadian. Peter, his brother, was a performer as well.

He attended St. Pius X and St. Patrick’s for his secondary schooling then enrolled at Carleton University to study sociology and criminology, but left before finishing.

He performed as a comic in several nightclubs around Canada and, for a while, oversaw Club 505, a speakeasy in Toronto. At the age of 17, Aykroyd began his career as a cast member of the brief-lived Canadian sketch comedy show The Hart, which also starred Lorne Michaels and the Lorne Terrific Hour.

He participated in the Second City comedy group in both Chicago and Toronto in 1973.

The pair revealed their separation while pointing out that they are still legally married. But as to why they separated, they didn’t disclose that.

“After 39 years together, we have decided to pursue different life paths.

We are still co-parents, employees, and business partners, and we are still legally married,” they claimed. “We made this decision in a loving friendship.
