Lee Ji-Eun, popularly known by her stage name IU, was born on May 16, 1993, in South Korea. She is a singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress. UI was born in Seoul’s Songjeong-dong district.
IU expressed her desire in having a career in the entertainment sector at a young age and began taking acting classes. Her family’s financial circumstances deteriorated after her elementary school years, and they eventually relocated to nearby Uijeongbu, in Gyeonggi Province.
For nearly a year, she and her younger brother lived separately from their parents in a studio room with their grandmother and cousin in abject poverty. IU had little contact with her parents at this time but felt safe in the care of her grandma.
IU discovered her love of singing in middle school, and after receiving positive feedback for a performance she delivered at her school’s sporting event, she decided to pursue a career in singing.
She participated in 20 auditions but was unsuccessful in every one of them. She was also duped by fictitious entertainment businesses. Later, she received training from Uee, Yubin, Heo Ga-Yoon, and Jun Hyo-Seong at Good Entertainment.
After deciding to work with LOEN Entertainment, she relocated to Bangbae in Seoul in 2007. Due to her miserable living circumstances at the time, IU claimed that she “liked being at the studio,” where she had a place to sleep and could eat as much as she pleased.
Who is popular IU or Lisa?
IU excels at acting, singing, visuals, modeling, and fashion and Lisa on the other hand is also talented in modeling, acting, dancing, rapping, and fashion.
To us at Ghanafuo, we think both are incredible idols and artists in their own right.
Technically, comparing them would be inappropriate because they both shine in their own ways, Lisa is good at things IU isn’t, and IU has skills and qualities that Lisa also lacks.
