William Harrison Withers Jr. Born on July 4, 1938, was an American singer-songwriter and musician popularly known by the stage name Bill Withers.  He had numerous hits over a profession spanning 18 years, including “Ain’t No Sunshine” (1971), “Grandma’s Hands” (1971), “Use Me” (1972), “Lean on Me” (1972), “Lovely Day” (1977) and “Just the Two of Us” (1981).

Withers gained 3 Grammy Awards and turned into nominated for 6 more. His lifestyle turned into the difficulty of the 2009 documentary movie Still Bill.

Withers enlisted in the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. Two of his songs have been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
