The legend of all time Vicente Fernández Gómez was widely known as a Mexican singer, songwriter, actor, and film producer. Nicknamed “Chente” is the short form of Vicente, “El Charro de Huentitán” (The Charro from Huentitán), “El Ídolo de México” (The Idol of Mexico), and “El Rey de la Música Ranchera” (The King of Ranchera Music), Fernández started his career as a busker, and went on to become a cultural icon, having recorded more than 100 albums and contributing to more than 30 films. His repertoire consisted of ranchers and other Mexican classics.
On December 12, 2021, Vicente took his last breath in Hospital Country 2000, in Guadalajara, Mexico of complications from injuries after falling at his ranch in Guadalajara.

Yes, Vicente has a family. He was one of three children of his parents. He happens to be the son of a rancher and a housewife. Vicente was also a family man who was married with kids at the time of his death. He was married to Maria del Refugio Abarca Villaseñor, the sister of a close friend of his whom he met in his hometown. They were married from 1963 until 2021 when he passed away.
Vicente is the father of four children, a daughter whom he adopted and three biological sons. His children are; Alejandro Fernández, Vicente Fernández, Gerardo Fernández and Alejandra Fernández.
