Is Ronnie Spector African-American?

Spector definitely had African-American blood running through her veins. Her mother was half-Black and half-Cherokee. Her father on the other hand is of Irish descent.

In the late 50s, Ronnie founded the hit all-girls group with the help of their cousin Talley, and their older sister Estelle Bennett. In 1963, Phil Spector signed The Ronettes to his Philles label, and he oversaw the majority of their recording endeavors.

Their biggest single, Be My Baby, which peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963, shot them massively into the spotlight.

They followed up with subsequent hit tracks like Baby, I Love You, and Is This What I Get for Loving You?

Born to Be Together and Are You Experienced Enough to Love Me were the group’s two 1965 Billboard Hot 100 entries.
