In April 1913, McKinley Morganfield was born as Muddy Waters in Issaquena County, Mississippi. He died in April 1983. He sang and played harmonica and guitar. He began playing when he was 17 years old.

He was documented in 1941 for the Library of Congress. To pursue music full-time, Waters relocated to Chicago in 1943. His debut records were produced there in 1946. With Little Walter Jacobs, Jimmy Rogers, Elga Edmonds, Otis Spann, and sporadically Willie Dixon in his ensemble, he cut numerous records.

I Just Want to Make Love to You, Hoochie Coochie Man, and I’m Ready are just a few of Muddy Waters’ numerous hit tunes. His debut live CD, At Newport 1960, is well-known. On April 30, 1983, Muddy Waters passed away at the age of 70.

No, On April 30, 1983, Muddy Waters passed away at his home in Westmont, Illinois, from complications related to his cancer while he was sleeping. He was transported from the Westmont house where he spent the last ten years of his life to the Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he was later declared dead.

May 4, 1983, saw the day of his funeral. His funeral was attended by a sizable number of blues performers and admirers at Restvale Cemetery in Alsip, Illinois. He is interred close to Geneva, his wife.
