Brian Douglas Wilson is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and co-founder of the Beach Boys.

He was born on June 20, 1942.

He is widely acknowledged as one of the most innovative and significant songwriters of the 20th century, and he is frequently referred to as a genius for his novel approaches to pop composition, extraordinary musical talent, and mastery of recording techniques. High production values, intricate harmonies and orchestrations, layered vocals, and contemplative or inventive themes distinguish his most well-known work. Wilson is also well-known for the high-pitched singing he used to do and for his mental health issues all his life.

Audree Neva (née Korthof) Wilson and Murry Wilson, a machinist who later became a part-time songwriter, had Brian Douglas Wilson as their first child on June 20, 1942, at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood, California. His ancestors are Swedish, Dutch, Scottish, English, German, Irish, and Swedish. Dennis and Carl, Brian’s younger brothers, were born in 1944 and 1946, respectively. The family moved from Inglewood to 3701 West 119th Street in Hawthorne, California, shortly after Dennis was born.

Brian, like his brothers, was subjected to psychological and sometimes physical abuse from his father.

He described his father as “cruel” and “violent”; Wilson, on the other hand, claimed that many of the later accounts of his father’s treatment were “dirty lies” and that “even the things that are true” had been misreported.
