Thomas Edward Yorke is the lead singer and songwriter for the English rock band Radiohead. Yorke is a multi-instrumentalist known for his falsetto and primarily plays guitar and keyboards. Rolling Stone named Yorke one of the greatest singers in history and one of the most influential of his generation.
Yorke’s solo work consists primarily of electronic music. The Eraser, his debut solo album, was released in 2006. To perform it live, he formed Atoms for Peace in 2009, with musicians including Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich. Amok, their 2013 album, was released. Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes, Yorke’s second solo album, was released in 2014, followed by Anima in 2019. Yorke debuted a new band, Smile, in 2021, with Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood and jazz drummer Tom Skinner.
