Mark Capps was a well-known American Grammy Award-winning sound engineer and music producer from Nashville. Mark Capps was born on December 14, 1968. He was the son of Nashville circles legendary session player, Grand Ole Opry guitarist, and Musicians Hall of Fame member Jimmy Capps.
Having been part of a well-established musical family in Nashville, Mark worked with country, gospel, and pop artists throughout his career, having worked in the Nashville music scene for 35 years. He shared the Grammy Award for Best Polka Album in 2005, 2006, and 2007 for engineering albums by Jimmy Sturr & His Orchestra.

Mark met his untimely death on January 5, 2023 in a fatal shooting by the police. He was shot dead by a member of a SWAT team in the doorway of his home. According to reports he had been holding his wife and adult stepdaughter hostage. He had been wanted on aggravated assault and aggravated kidnapping warrants. At the time of dearth he was aged 54.
