Kid Cudi is a rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and fashion designer from the United States.
Cudi was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and later relocated to New York City, where he rose to prominence following the release of his debut single “Day ‘n’ Nite,” which he initially self-published on his MySpace page.
Why does Kid Cudi wear dresses?
Kid Cudi explained that it was a tribute to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, who wore a similar dress on the cover of Face magazine in 1993.
Cudi met his future mentor, rapper and producer Kanye West, in a Virgin Megastore in 2006. “I was looking at CDs, saw the gleam of a Jesus piece in the right side of my eye, looked up, and it was Kanye West,” Cudi explained in a 2009 SPIN interview. He introduced himself and offered some of his music to West.
Kid Cudi was arrested on June 11, 2010 in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City’s Manhattan borough and charged with felony criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance. Despite his arrest, Cudi was released and arrived in Manchester, Tennessee in time to perform at Bonnaroo.
