In February 2008, 82-year-old Stephen Michael Ross (born May 10, 1940), Chairman and Founder of Related Companies, the most renowned privately-owned real estate company in the US, made his first investment in the Miami Dolphins.
In 2009, he also took on the duties of managing general partner of the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium. Ross grew raised in South Florida and has had a lifelong affection for the Dolphins, so the role is the realization of one of his long-held goals.
The Dolphins organization is deeply ingrained with Ross’ philosophy of creating a world-class squad both on and off the field. He invested $730 million in Hard Rock Stadium and the properties around it, transforming the storied stadium into a premier entertainment destination that highlights the finest of Miami.
Ross is ranked 185th on the Forbes Billionaires List in 2020 with a net worth of $7.6 billion, according to Forbes magazine.
