According to his family, Peter Sealey, who served as The Coca-Cola Company’s former global chief marketing officer and spent six years working for Columbia Pictures, passed away on December 15 in Palm Springs, California, as a result of complications following a fall. He was 82.
Over the course of Sealey’s more than two decades at The Coca-Cola Company, Columbia Pictures was acquired by the soft drink manufacturer. Following the acquisition, Sealey was elevated to the position of president of worldwide marketing at Columbia Picture Studios, where she spent the 1980s lending her marketing acumen to movies like “Tootsie,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Karate Kid,” “Stand By Me,” and “La Bamba.”
Throughout his tenure at Coke, Sealey is renowned for creating the “Always Coca-Cola” campaign, which popularized the company’s polar bear mascot.

In a 2021 interview, Sealey stated, “People would phone our offices and ask when that commercial would show again, so they could see it. “I’m proud of how that campaign’s impact.”
Up until 1993, Sealey worked for the business before leaving to pursue careers as a global speaker, consultant, and expert witness. He continued to provide business advice to organizations like Sony Corporation and United Parcel Service.
