James David Catto, a British musician, video director, photographer, and script editor, was born in London, England, on August 14, 1968. Before quitting Faithless to create 1 Giant Leap in 1999, he was a founding member of that band.
Catto received her education at Arnold House School in St. John’s Wood, London. She joined Faithless as a founding member and served as the band’s creative director, video director, and one of its two vocalists (the other being Maxi Jazz). He released Sunday at 8 PM, his final album with Faithless.
Catto and Duncan Bridgeman started 1 Giant Leap after Catto left Faithless. released and sold about 300,000 copies of their debut album in 2002. worked with people like Tim Robbins, Dido, Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Stipe, Bono, Susan Sarandon, Dennis Hopper, and Kurt Vonnegut.
At the Red Rock Film Festival, 1 Giant Leap took up the Grand Jury Best Documentary award. The picture has gained a critical appreciation and more screenings. A few examples of musicians are Michael Franti, Michael Stipe, DBC Pierre, Maxi Jazz, Mahotella Queens, Stewart Copeland, Lila Downs, and Ramata Diakite.
In 2020, Catto was a keynote speaker on The Human Potential Series: Transforming Uncertainty into Action. The series focused on offering practical and spiritual support for people during the COVID-19 pandemic. He wrote a bestselling book in 2017 called Insanely Gifted – Turn Your Demons into Creative Rocket Fuel.
Becoming Nobody, his most recent picture, paid homage to Ram Dass, a spiritual mentor. His newest movie, Adam and Eve – Healing the Planet’s Primary Wound, is now in development.
