Tory Lanez was found guilty on all charges by a jury in July 2020 of shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, both felonies. Lanez was also convicted of an additional felony count of recklessly discharging a firearm.

Megan’s attorney, Alex Spiro, told Page Six after the verdict, “The jury got it right. “I am relieved that Meg has received justice.”

Meanwhile, Lanez’s lawyer, George Mgdesyan, told Page Six, “We are shocked by the verdict. Mr. Peterson was not convicted because there was insufficient evidence. This case, we believe, was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt. We will investigate all options, including an appeal.”

According to TMZ, the “Talk to Me” rapper now faces 22 years in prison, and the outlet believes Tory will be deported back to Canada, where he was born. Tory’s sentencing will take place at a later date. The trial, held in Los Angeles, was filled with emotion and, at times, contentious testimony.

Megan, 27, took the stand in a purple power suit on December 14 and claimed in front of Lanez, 30, and the entire courtroom that the “Say It” singer fired several shots at her while shouting “dance, bitch!” after an argument in their vehicle on their way home from a party.

The “WAP” rapper claimed the argument started over their occasional sexual relationship but quickly escalated into a fight over their respective music careers. “I’m stunned. “I’m terrified,” Megan said during her testimony. “I hear a gunshot and can’t believe he’s shooting at me.”

Lanez also allegedly offered her and her former best friend Kelsey Harris, who was in the car at the time of the incident, $1 million each to remain silent and not tell police what happened.
