On September 5, 2009, Luke David Blumm was born in New York. He hails from an acting family. Luke enjoys making up stories and pretend games, so acting came naturally to him.

Luke is renowned for having a very authentic and natural acting approach. He also likes to skateboard, play video games, and write comic books.

500 children were put through the SON David audition process by director Ivan Kavanagh. He claimed to have seen several competent actors but didn’t desire a polished “Hollywood” performance. He was looking for an actor whose manner both on and off camera would be identical.

Luke’s parents eventually agreed after six months of Luke pleading with them to let him begin auditioning.

He had to improvise a scenario with Judd Apatow for his The King Of Staten Island audition. Luke highlighted “Iceflash,” a comic book character he created when he was just five years old. Judd enjoyed the improvisation they made based on that so much that they asked Luke if they could incorporate Iceflash into the narrative.

In order to create a more convincing physical performance for the film SON, he watched medical films of persons experiencing grand mal seizures.
