American professional soccer player Christian Mate Pulisic is a winger or attacking midfielder for the Premier League team Chelsea and the United States national team.
At 17, Pulisic made his senior national team debut in March 2016. Prior to that, he represented the US at the under-15 and under-17 levels. He is the most recent player who captained the American national team in modern times.
He guided the Americans to their first-ever CONCACAF Nations League victory and the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup final. In addition to one for Young Male Athlete of the Year, he has won three Male Athlete of the Year awards from U.S. Soccer.

Harrisburg Heat
With the Harrisburg Heat of the National Professional Soccer League, Pulisic made his professional debut in 1991. He spent the entirety of his playing career with the Heat before retiring in 1999.

Coaching
Pulisic was hired by Lebanon Valley College in 1993 to start a new era of the men’s soccer program, where he served as the head coach until 2005. Pulisic also started coaching the new women’s team program in 1996.
Pulisic worked as an assistant coach with the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL in 2003 and 2004 while still at Lebanon Valley College.
