Dolores Veneri Vallelonga was born in Emerson, Bergen County, New Jersey, to Anthony and Anna Venere.
She had two brothers, John, her older brother, and Louis, her younger brother. In the 1940s, they spent their youth in the Bronx, New York.
She wed Frank “Tony Lip” Anthony Vallelonga on June 28th, 1958 in Mount Vernon, New York, who is now well-known. Frank Vallelonga Jr. and Nicholas Vallelonga were born to them as a couple.
Tony Lip, her husband, is well known for his work as an actor and for portraying “Carmine Lupertazzi,” the series’ boss, on television from 2001 to 2007.
He was an American citizen and an Italian-American who served in the United States Army while stationed in Germany during the years of military occupation.
Dolores Vallelonga’s Cause of Death
Dolores Veneri Vallelonga died on February 17, 1999, in New York City, New York. Her cause of death is unknown.
She was laid to rest in the Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, Bergen County, New Jersey. Her headstone reads “Beloved wife and mother,” as seen at Dolores Vallelonga’s tomb.
Tony Lip and his wife Dolores lived most of their lives in Paramus, New Jersey, along with their two children.
Frank lived in North Bronx until around 1971 when the family moved to Paramus.
“That whole apartment, when I walked onto that set, it was like I was walking into that apartment in the Bronx,” Frank Jr. said.
“To a T. It was surreal to see that, seeing the table, seeing the kitchen, the TV and the record player exactly the way we had it — there was always music on in the house — and in the Christmas scene to see the Christmas tree decorated exactly the way my mother would decorate it. It was very emotional.”
