Kevin Serge Durand is a well-known Canadian actor who was born on January 14, 1974. The roles of Vasiliy Fet in “The Strain,” “Martin Keamy” in “Lost,” “Fred J. Dukes/The Blob” in “X-Men,” and a number of other characters brought him widespread acclaim.

As he was growing up, Kevin, much like many other children, had a multitude of career aspirations. Because he was good at hockey, his family assumed that he would pursue a career in the sport. However, Kevin had other aspirations and wanted to be a rapper instead.

Soon after, Kevin discovered that stand-up comedy, and not just any other kind of comedy, but stand-up comedy, in particular, was his thing. Kevin promptly gave up his aspirations of becoming a rapper and threw himself into his newly discovered passion and love of stand-up comedy, eventually receiving the distinction of one of “Canada’s Funniest New Comedians” in the year 1994.
