Born in England on July 22, 1981, Clive James Standen is best known for his roles as Bryan Mills in the NBC television series Taken (2017–2018), which is based on the same-named film trilogy, as well as Rollo in the History Channel series Vikings (2013–2018), Sir Gawain in the Starz series Camelot, Archer in the BBC One series Robin Hood, and Private Carl Harris in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who.

Clive James Standen was raised in Leicestershire, East Midlands, England, and was born on a British Army installation in Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland. He attended the King Edward VII School in Melton Mowbray before enrolling in a performing arts study at the college there.

After that, Standen succeeded in getting accepted into the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art’s three-year acting diploma program. Apart from acting, Standen was a gold medalist in fencing and a former international Muay Thai boxer in his late teens.

Clive Standen and Francesca Standen have been married for more than 15 years. After exchanging vows in 2007, the couple went on to build a beautiful family.

They have three kids together: Hayden, Edi, and Rafferty. Clive is a somewhat private guy when it comes to his family’s circumstances, but he enjoys telling people about his wonderful experiences as a father.
