Robert DeWayne “Bob” Papenbrook was an American voice actor. He was born on September 18, 1955, and passed away on March 17, 2006. In addition to that, he was known by the moniker John Smallberries.
Because of his work as a voice actor for “gruff” characters, Papenbrook enjoyed a great deal of notoriety in the fields of voice acting for anime and video games. However, Papenbrook was particularly well known for his many live action voice-overs, the most notable of which was the Power Rangers franchise.
Papenbrook also did voice work for several animated series. It was directors Steven Spielberg and George Lucas were responsible for his first voice acting performance, which was in the popular film Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). Papenbrook provided the voices of all of the Hovito locals that follow Indiana Jones at the opening of the film.
Bob Papenbrook passed away on March 17, 2006, at the age of fifty, as a result of persistent pulmonary issues. Debbie Rothstein was his wife, and Bryce Papenbrook was their son.
