Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan, born March 30, 1965, is a British broadcaster, journalist, author, and television personality. He began his Fleet Street career in 1988 at The Sun.
In May 2005, he purchased control of Press Gazette, a media trade publication, and its “cash cow,” the British Press Awards, in a $1 million deal with Matthew Freud.
This ownership was partly responsible for numerous significant newspapers’ decision to skip the 2006 awards ceremony. Press Gazette entered administrative receivership before the end of 2006 before being sold to a trade bidder.
First News was introduced by Morgan on May 4, 2006. He declared that it would be “Britain’s first national newspaper for children” when the publication initially came out. Readers aged seven to fourteen are the target audience for the weekly issue. As editorial director at First News, Morgan was in charge of securing celebrity endorsements.
Is Piers Morgan a nice person?
According to reports, Piers Morgan’s personality is fairly accommodating. In a 2007 video, Morgan fell off a Segway and shattered three ribs. Mr. President, you’d have to be a moron to tumble off. After former U.S. President George W. Bush fell off a Segway in 2003, Simon Cowell scathingly made fun of Morgan’s prior comment in a headline for the Mirror.
