On December 10, 1993, the National Football League’s Chicago Bears officially introduced Eddie Jackson as a free safety. He participated in college football in Alabama.

Jackson moved from cornerback to safety prior to his junior year in 2015. He appeared in all 15 games and had 46 tackles and six interceptions. He was named the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship Defensive MVP after recording three tackles and an interception in a 45-40 victory over Clemson.
