Rasim attended Emmaus High School in Pennsylvania’s highly competitive East Penn Conference, where his performance was highlighted by MaxPreps and other outlets featuring top high school prospects. After two years at Lackawant College, White chose West Virginia over scholarship offers from Pittsburgh, Arizona State, Louisville, and Illinois. He had 152 total tackles, four sacks, three interceptions, nine passes defended, and four forced fumbles during his time at West Virginia.

White quickly adjusted to his new role and impressed the coaching staff. During training camp, he began competing for the Chargers’ starting weak-side linebacker spot against Jatavis Brown. To begin the regular season, head coach Anthony Lynn named White the backup weakside linebacker behind Brown. However, an hour before kickoff in the Chargers’ season opener, Lynn was reported to have chosen to start White alongside Kyle Emanuel and middle linebacker Denzel Perryman.
