Khalil Delshon Mack (born February 22, 1991) is an American football outside linebacker for the National Football League’s Los Angeles Chargers (NFL). He attended the University of Buffalo and was drafted with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders.
Where did Khalil Mack go to high school?
Mack graduated from Fort Pierce Westwood High School. He used to play quarterback and was known as “Bombshell Man.” Mack found it difficult to throw the ball short, so he switched to linebacker. He had been counting on basketball for the rest of his athletic career to get him a college scholarship, but his plans were dashed when he tore his patella tendon before his sophomore season. Following his injury, his high school football coach, Waides Ashmon, recruited him to the sport, promising Mack and his parents a scholarship.
Mack had 140 tackles, eight for a loss, and nine sacks in his only year of high school football. In Florida, he was named third-team All-State and first-team All-Area, and he helped lead the Panthers to a district championship. As a newcomer to the sport, Rivals.com rated him as a two-star recruit. He received a Division I football scholarship from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
