Lisa Cash, 18, and her twin siblings Christy and Chelsea Cawley, 8, were discovered at a residence in Tallaght’s Rossfield Estate at 12.30 am on Sunday.

They were taken to Crumlin Hospital but were subsequently confirmed dead.

Their mother, in her 40s, has been released from the hospital, according to police, but the victims’ fourteen-year-old brother is still being treated for critical but non-life threatening injuries.

A man in his early twenties who was apprehended at the site is still being held.

The Police believe everyone involved knew each other, and the situation was characterised as aggressive, difficult, and distressing.

Postmortem examinations were planned on Sunday afternoon and Monday.

The area, located west of Dublin, is still blocked off until forensic tests are conducted.

The house’s upstairs windows were open and damaged, and there were bloodstains on the window frames. One of the downstairs windows was also opened.

Items including a shoe, black coat and small bag were removed from the scene in forensic bags.

Fianna Fail member Charlie O’Connor said the tragedy had left the community in “deep distress.”
