Margaret Urlich’s husband is George Gorga. In 1991, George Gorga won the Australian Music Industry Awards for Best Live Sound Engineer.
George quickly found himself in demand to record, mix, and even produce the music of many prominent performers.
He contributed his expertise as a sound designer to such endeavors as Sweeney Todd (MTC), the opening of Sanctuary Cove with Frank Sinatra and Peter Allen, Carols by Candlelight, and many Australia Day extravaganzas.
He has been on live television during the ARIA Awards and The Footy Show Grand Final, among other events.
In the late 1970s, George started his career in the entertainment sector by setting up sound systems for live rock band performances.
He attended at the Sydney School of Audio Engineering in 1980.
With numerous touring bands and solo artists, George spent the most of the 1980s and the early 1990s on the road in Australia and abroad honing his sound systems engineering talents.
In order to record, mix, and in some cases, produce the music of a number of top performers, George was becoming more and more in demand.
In addition, he started using his skills and knowledge to produce and design sound for an increasing number of clients and events.
