Thomas Tuchel, born August 29, 1973, is a German professional football manager and former player who now serves as the head coach of Premier League team Chelsea.
Tuchel, who was born in Krumbach, retired at the age of 25 due to a persistent knee cartilage problem; in 2000, he began his coaching career as a junior coach at VfB Stuttgart, and in 2009, he was recruited by Mainz 05 following a one-year stint with FC Augsburg II. He left Mainz in 2014 to join another Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund, where he won the DFB-Pokal until being fired in 2017. He was appointed by Paris Saint-Germain in 2018 and steered the team to two league victories, including a domestic quadruple in his second season.
