Tommy Lee Jones, a veteran, and super accomplished actor and director, used to own a very large equestrian estate in Wellington, Florida.
He purchased the property in 2002 for $4.62 million. He upgraded and maintained it for several years until he decided to sell it in 2013.
Jones listed the property on the market with a price tag of $26.75 million. The four-bedroom, 11,000-square-foot main house has floor-to-ceiling glass walls that allow it to take in the 48 horse stalls and regulation-sized polo field.
Jones is a huge enthusiast of barns; at least one of his other farm estates has been highlighted in Garden & Gun magazine.
He finally parted ways with it in 2019 when it was finally sold.
He won an Emmy in 1983 for his portrayal of murderer Gary Gilmore in the television adaption of The Executioner’s Song by Norman Mailer. He played the massively bearded pirate Captain Bully Hayes in the pirate adventure Nate and Hayes the same year.
Jones received a second nomination for an Emmy in 1989 for his performance as Texas Ranger Woodrow F. Call in the renowned television miniseries Lonesome Dove.
