Severe weather on Friday night proved deadly in some areas of the nation, causing a major pileup on a Montana interstate due to a dust storm and raging floodwaters in Colorado.
Six commercial semi-trucks were among the 21 cars involved in a pileup that was triggered by a dust storm on Interstate 90 in Montana on Friday night, according to Sgt. Jay M. Nelson of the Montana Highway Patrol. Eight more individuals were taken to the hospital for their injuries, and six people, including two teenagers, perished in the collisions.
During the dust storm on Montana’s Interstate 90, which witnesses claimed lasted for more than a mile, there was zero visibility, according to some reports. Numerous automobiles and tractor-trailers were backed up. The entire reopening of the road took more than six hours
It was somewhat of an unexpected harsh weather event that came up. In Montana dust storms that reduce visibility to zero are barely experienced.
