Tamale was rocked when several people died following a road accident in the Northern capital yesterday June 29.
Confirmed reports state that at least 9 people died in the fatal accident after fans of Ghanaian and Tamale-based artiste Fancy Gadam were involved.
The fans were on their way to the Tamale Airport to welcome Fancy Gadam and Nigerian artiste Patoranking to perform a musical concert in Tamale on Saturday, June 30, 2018.
Eyewitness accounts claim one of the vans the fans boarded burst a tyre and the driver lost control leading to ramming into a moving long truck. Several fans who were riding motorbikes and other saloon cars in a convoy were said to have also crushed into the accident vehicles injuring a number of fans.
Fancy Gadam who has an incredibly huge fan base in the Northern region subsequently canceled the show billed for today June 30 and took to social media to express his sadness and a heavy heart.
My heart is heavy right now , words can’t describe how I feel. I am sorry to announce to you that my show with Patoranking scheduled to come of tomorrow has been postponed indifinately… I can’t lose my fans and still have the heart to stage a show 😭😭😭😭😭
