The Chayil Foundation, a non-governmental organization, is on a mission to help widows and single mothers in Ghana achieve financial independence and improve their living standards. With the goal of reducing poverty and empowering marginalized women, the foundation provides healthcare, legal aid, vocational training, and skills development programs to support these individuals.
Founder of the Chayil Foundation, Eileen Ninson, highlighted the importance of focusing on Sustainable Development Goal 1, which aims to reduce poverty. Through various initiatives such as healthcare support, skills development, legal aid, and micro-finance schemes, the foundation aims to lift these women out of poverty and help them establish sustainable livelihoods.
The foundation has already impacted the lives of 82 widows in the Offinso and Dodowa Municipalities, providing them with the necessary support to build wealth and financial stability. Eileen Ninson emphasized the need for individuals and other organizations to come together and support the Chayil Foundation in their efforts to empower widows and single mothers.
Partner of the foundation, Andrew Osei, encouraged individuals and NGOs to join hands with the Chayil Foundation to make a positive impact on the lives of these marginalized women. The organization is committed to addressing the challenges faced by widows, including disinheritance, discrimination, and harmful practices, in order to create a more equitable society.
Through its work, the Chayil Foundation is not only providing financial aid but also promoting the empowerment and independence of widows and single mothers in Ghana. It is a step towards uplifting communities and breaking the cycle of poverty for these deserving individuals.
